Exhibition stands we can build at Learning Technologies 2027
ExCeL London is one of Europe’s premier exhibition spaces with many different options on their floorplan menu, so the sky’s the limit when it comes to creative design.
Here are our top stand options for Learning Technologies:
Bespoke exhibition stands – or ‘custom’ exhibition stands – are designed to a defined set of brand requirements and business objectives, usually for one, specific event.
A bespoke option ensures that all-important creative flexibility at a busy venue like London ExCeL. And at a popular event like the Learning Technologies exhibitoin, a bespoke stand is the best way to stand out from the crowd and create something irresistible to your niche target audience.
A flexible, cost-effective solution, modular stands can be reconfigured for different events.
Made up of interlocking components like giant Lego sets, they create a seamless, professional display without the price tag of a fully custom build.
We’ve designed a huge range of high-impact modular stands over the years to wow ExCeL London’s visitors. It’s an ideal choice if you’re not ready to invest in a permanent stand, and you can combine modular frameworks with custom features, without the higher costs of a permanent, custom-built display.
Shell scheme exhibition stands are a budget-friendly option, and come in a range of sizes from 3m x 3m to 6m x 3m or 8m x 3m, often as part of all-inclusive packages.
These stands may be smaller, but they still offer plenty of room to get creative. With the right design, a shell scheme can be just as effective as a larger setup but without the price tag.
Ideal for those new to exhibiting or testing the waters at Learning Technologies for the first time, shell schemes include flooring, lighting, and power (500 watts). You can also ask to remove the fascia board to help make the space feel more open. The larger the stand, the more you can add, such as designated meeting areas or video walls.
Exhibition stand hire
If your plans for 2027 aren’t finalised and you’re not ready to commit to a permanent stand, our exhibition hire service is the perfect solution.
You can rent an entire modular stand or just specific pieces, or even mix and match custom-made elements with rented items.
Hiring is both cost-effective and sustainable – a great budget-friendly choice, especially if this is your first big show.
Can’t decide which stand to opt for?
Everything you need to know about exhibiting at ExCeL London
ExCeL London is a giant in the exhibition world, with the capacity to host up to 70,000 visitors at once and welcoming more than 4 million guests each year.
It’s one of our favourite venues to work at thanks to its central location and great accessibility. We’re just 90 minutes away, which is handy since we’re setting up stands there all the time!
Part of London’s historic docklands, ExCeL boasts 100,000m² of flexible event space, split between two huge halls, with outdoor areas and conference suites. With so much ground to cover, make sure you’re wearing comfy shoes.
ExCeL London also has fantastic transport links. It’s close to London City Airport, multiple bus routes, three DLR stations, and it has its own Elizabeth Line station. Central London is just 15 minutes away by public transport. And if you’re driving, there are 3,000 parking spaces available.
There’s a wide variety of hospitality options on site and in the immediate local area. From hotels to bars, cafes and restaurants there’s something to suit everyone’s taste and budget.
And remember: you must pack hi-vis vests for setup days – they’re an essential entry requirement!
The perks:
- A massive 100,000m² of flexible space gives you plenty of room (and height!) to get creative.
- The transport links are second to none among UK exhibition venues.
- You’ll find hotels within a few minutes walk from the exhibiton halls.
- It’s a logistical dream, making it easy to bring in vehicles and equipment for both setup and breakdown.
- The extensive on-site support covers everything from catering to rigging and audiovisual equipment maintenance.
- There’s a great selection of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, and bars on-site.
- The waste removal teams do a sterling job cleaning the venue and show floors after each show day.
- There’s ample parking for over 3,000 vehicles.
The drawbacks:
- It is expensive to book space (eye-wateringly so).
- Venue charges like rigging, internet connectivity, and logistics are also budget-breakers.
- On-site parking is £25 a day (make sure you factor this into your show budget).
- Food and drink at the venue are expensive (can you see the pattern emerging here?).
- Despite the cost, it’s a very popular venue and prime spaces go quickly. You have to be proactive and book early to avoid disappointment.
- As the space is so large, you need to double-check access points to ensure you choose the correct point to bring in equipment. Otherwise, you could be in for quite a hike!
Motive nailed it. There were amazing little touches that we hadn’t thought of. They combined our crazy ideas and their expertise brilliantly. It was a really great working relationship – they went above and beyond.”

Drop us a line and let’s discuss your plans.
How much do exhibition stands cost?
How much your exhibition stand costs can depend on multiple factors:
- The size of your space: how much room do you have to work with?
- One-off or reusable: are you looking for something just for this event, or do you want a stand you can adapt for different venues?
- Your goals: what are you hoping to achieve by exhibiting?
We’ll work closely with you to come up with plans and designs that fit both your budget and your goals.
What makes a good exhibition stand for education and learning and development?
A great exhibition stand is interesting, eye-catching, and targeted at your specific audience. It should reflect your brand’s values, be designed to help you achieve your goals for the event. We help brands get a great return on their investment by working with them to clarify their vision, and it all starts with a detailed exhibition stand brief.
Should I hire a stand or buy one?
It really depends on what you’re aiming for. Here’s why hiring might be the right choice for you:
- You’re new to exhibiting and want to test things out.
- Your teams exhibit regularly and need to frequently update your stand’s graphics.
- You want to experiment with new ideas and concepts.
- You’re looking for a more sustainable exhibiting solution than a permanent stand.
- You don’t have space to store a stand.
- You don’t exhibit enough to justify the cost of owning a stand.
If you’re planning to exhibit more than three times a year, owning a stand is likely to be the most cost-effective option.
Can you take our supplies to ExCeL London if we work together?
Absolutely! You can send your materials our way, and we’ll make sure to pack them up with your stand for transport. If you’re hopping on a train, the last thing you want is to lug around a bunch of brochures, iPads, and products. That’s why we handle all your exhibition logistics as part of the project price.
And if you want to lighten your load, consider renting iPads and other equipment from us! We’ve got a great selection of furniture, AV gear, and various props and accessories to make your stand unmissable.
What’s the height limit for exhibition stands at ExCeL London?
Typically, the height limit for stands is 4 meters. If you’re thinking about going taller, you’ll need to get the okay from the event organisers, but often you can go up to a maximum of 6 meters.
