Sustainable exhibition stands
Eco-friendly exhibition stands that pack a design punch
Truly engaging sustainable exhibition stands
The exhibition industry is not known for its eco-friendliness. But it doesn’t need to be this way, and we’re making a stand (no pun intended!).
We build and deliver genuinely more eco-friendly exhibition stands for brands and businesses who are aware of their environmental impact and carbon footprint and want to demonstrate that they are making a difference in how they exhibit.
We have our own internal environmental management. As part of this, we carefully examine each project we undertake to ensure that we can advise our clients on the best practices for delivering the most environmentally friendly exhibition stand possible.
Our commitment to sustainability
We don’t talk about sustainability lightly – we constantly strive to reduce the carbon impact of our operational, materials, logistics and manufacturing processes. It’s important to us because we know it’s important to our clients.
We’ve engaged external carbon accounting consultants to provide transparent Scope 1 & 2 reporting on our carbon impact. As part of this, we’ll publish a sustainability framework detailing our carbon emissions reduction strategy, with the aim of accurately reporting on the carbon impact of every stand produced under our customer’s Scope 3 activities. We’ll also be able to report on a job-by-job basis on the carbon impact and how this can be reduced further on future exhibition stands.
How do we build sustainable exhibition stands?
We’re always looking at ways to make our stand-building process more sustainable. From our logistics to the materials we use, careful consideration is given to every aspect of our client’s projects to make sure we’re supplying the most environmentally friendly exhibition stands possible!
Installation & delivery
Where possible, we always encourage using electric vehicles for delivery, and we aim to have a fully electric fleet by 2026.
Lighting & electricity use
We offer an energy-efficient rental lighting system.
Waste management
We are committed to zero to landfill – both at shows and back home at Motive HQ.
Energy
All the power, light and heating we use is provided by suppliers with green credentials, and 100% of our electrical tariff is from renewable energy sources. We also have an onsite electric vehicle charger at our headquarters which our clients can use when they visit us.
Single-use plastics and PVC
We avoid single-use plastics wherever possible and can advise you on best practices for removing them from your displays.
Flooring & carpets
We offer a wide range of sustainable, recyclable woollen alternatives to polyester carpets. All the raised flooring we use is a modular, rental and fully reusable system that is easy to transport.
Materials
We carefully select sustainable or renewable materials. We use sustainable ecoboard, recycled aluminium composite boards, a wide range of recyclable fabrics, and all our acrylic substitutes are from recycled sources. We minimise our use of PVC wherever possible.
Timber
Supply chain
We ensure that all our suppliers not only provide environmentally friendly products but can demonstrate environmental best practices in everything from the delivery of products down to the recycling of materials.
Premises and location
Our headquarters have excellent energy efficiency and are ideally positioned to serve some of the largest exhibition halls in the UK, reducing miles travelled. Our staff are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport to travel to work, making their commutes as environmentally friendly as possible.
