From modern, purpose-built facilities to the more traditional conference/ hotel venues, Birmingham is home to an array of exciting exhibition spaces and some of the country’s most well-attended events.

The National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham
With a floor space of 182,000m², The NEC is the UK’s largest exhibition centre.
It hosts more exhibitions, events, and conferences than any other venue in the country, including some of the biggest events on the show calendar, so it really is the place to be.
Because of this, the NEC is comparatively pricier than other UK-based exhibition venues (both in terms of booking event space, and refreshments while you’re there).
You’ll also need to become familiar with the Voyage Traffic Control system; make sure you read the small print to avoid hold-ups and a £75 fine!

The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham
Like the NEC, the ICC is a dedicated exhibition and events venue.
However, it typically hosts much smaller tradeshows with smaller stand spaces – so our modular exhibition stands and stand hire services are a popular choice.
Despite the smaller shows, events here are extremely well-attended. And at a popular venue like this, the success of your exhibition really comes down to the design of your stand. Luckily, whether you chose a custom, shell or modular exhibition system, we’ve got plenty of experience designing and building showstopping spaces here.
As it’s located right in the centre of Birmingham, visitors to the ICC can access hundreds of bars, restaurants and hotels right on the venue’s doorstep, or by using the city’s fantastic public transport links. This means it’s easy to find great places to socialise with prospective customers, and it’s convenient to get to and from the event at the beginning and end of the day.
But while getting to the ICC is a breeze for exhibitors and attendees, it’s a different story for contractors. Parking is very limited, loading bays are tiny, and there’s no vehicle drop-off area, so we’d avoid building your own exhibition stand if you’re attending an event here.

Hilton Metropole, Birmingham
Although the Hilton Metropole isn’t a dedicated exhibition venue like the NEC or ICC, it’s a popular conference and event space nonetheless.
It typically hosts one-day events on consecutive days, with build and dismantling time on either side. This means that stands need to be set up on the day of the show – access is usually granted from around 6am, with events starting at 9am.
But while it’s often an early start for us, from our point of view, Hilton Metropole is a fantastic venue. It’s conveniently located and has excellent travel links; it has event space and accommodation all under one roof; and its hospitality areas mean exhibitors can socialise with their clients and prospects without even having to leave the building.

Coventry Building Society Arena
Okay, so it’s not strictly Birmingham – but we thought Coventry was close enough to mention!
The Coventry Building Society Arena has 20,000m² of exhibition space across various event halls.
It has an on-site hotel, parking space for 2,200 cars, and is easily accessible by train, making it an ideal venue whether you’re attending for just one day or a few.
We love that the exhibition space here is really flexible. It can easily accommodate modular systems, shell schemes and custom exhibition stands, so you’ve got plenty of options when it comes to design.
