Deanta custom trade show stand case study at Fire Safety Event, a premium door display built to reuse across three shows
Deanta had been managing their own trade show stands. In 2026 they decided to arrive at the show ready to sell, not exhausted from the build

Deanta partnered with Motive Exhibitions for Fire Safety Event 2026 at the NEC Birmingham, bringing a custom 8x3m trade show stand designed to showcase their premium fire door range. One of three shows in 2026, the same custom framework had already been built to reconfigure across different stand sizes and audiences, travelling to NMBS and Benchmarks Trade Day earlier in the year.
Ready to hand over the exhibition stand process
Deanta has worked within the door industry for more than 20 years, supplying premium interior and fire doors to the trade. Having managed their own trade show stands previously, 2026 was the year they decided to up their game – appointing Motive Exhibitions across their show calendar on the strength of a recommendation from work done well for a previous client.
Fire Safety Event was one of three shows in 2026. The UK’s fastest growing exhibition for fire safety, it attracts more than 13,500 professionals to the NEC Birmingham focused on fire safety management, compliance and the latest products and technology in the sector.
Before designing anything, we visited Deanta’s HQ to see the doors in situ. Understanding the product before getting down to the design detail is how you avoid designing something that doesn’t work or not maximising the trade stand potential.
Designed around the doors, reconfigurable for three different shows
The challenge was displaying multiple door styles – without the trade show stand looking disjointed, and doing it across three shows with different dimensions and different audiences.
The solution was a custom framework across the back wall, designed to reconfigure and resize across very different stand dimensions. We had started the design process on Fire Safety and NMBS, when an opportunity came for Deanta to exhibit at Benchmarks Trade Day on a 10x10m. Due to the different nature of the space, a modular approach was better suited, so we made elements early for the main shows to use on this stand, and built the structure from our modular exhibition system to keep the costs lower for the one-off show. Exactly the kind of situation that good upfront design planning is built for.
Doors hung on interchangeable fittings so they could be swapped out between shows and sat proud of the panel for a three-dimensional effect. Two working doors were built into the back wall – one opening to reveal a display panel with product information, the other opening into a storage cupboard. Rather than fitting a standard door typical on a trade show stand, Deanta’s own fire doors were a perfect way to fill a practical job and highlight another product.
Different lightbox graphics were produced for each show, keeping the framework consistent to personalise the content to each audience. A touchscreen, set into a custom laminated timber plinth designed to match Deanta’s premium door finish, ran a bespoke app with product benefits and fire door specifications. A 3-D 19mm PVC sign above the back wall, custom made by our sister brand Motive Graphics, added height and presence. And a cheeky dartboard – because everyone knows how to play darts and nobody walks past without a go.
On site and ready to go
We transported all of Deanta’s products with the trade show stand, so the client didn’t need to worry about logistics on show day. The same custom elements had already travelled to a 6x2m stand at NMBS and a reformatted 10x10m at Benchmarks Trade Day earlier in the year, proof that the right build can work across a full show calendar regardless of stand size.
“The trade show stand is completely on-brand and it’s built to reuse. The customised elements allow Deanta to update their brand and products in the future, and the modularity means it can be reused and resized as their show calendar grows. We got to meet the premium product standard with the stand finish.”
