Stand designs centred on live demonstrations

This design needed to include one of the client’s grills, which would be used for live demonstrations in this exhibition at London’s ExCeL. Synergy Grill wanted a chef to show off the benefits of their products and draw visitors in to try the food cooked on the grills.

The target audience was restaurant and pub owners, with the key marketing message that Synergy Grills’ unique products use less gas while still cooking meat perfectly. Having the grill working on the stand would enable visitors to get close up and personal with this special cooking equipment

Working with heat is always a challenge

The patented Synergy Grill is a unique chargrill and griddle, and having anything extremely hot on an exhibition stand always requires meticulous planning. We essentially needed to design a custom exhibition stand featuring a mini, fully functional kitchen while maintaining a high level of health and safety.

A fully functional on-stand kitchen

With this modular stand design focused on the grill and live demonstrations, we needed to ensure the chef had everything required to cook up a storm!

We designed a modular counter to fit around the grill and plumbed in a sink so the chef could wash his hands and utensils.

To catch the attention of everyone walking by the stand, we also mounted speakers into the walls. These connected to the chef’s microphone so anyone passing by could hear him talking. 

But we couldn’t just rely on the demos to grab people’s attention –  the stand design needed to look the part, too. We installed some 3D lettering at the top, making the branding visible throughout the hall.

We also treated this brief as an evolution rather than a revolution and replaced one of the glass safety screens from a previous Synergy Grill stand with a branded acrylic (which didn’t impact the safety of the stand staff or visitors – we promise!).
