Danfoss Custom Build Exhibition Stand

Last August, InstallerSHOW announced it would be moving to Birmingham NEC from Coventry’s Ricoh Arena as it continues to grow and cement its place as an essential feature in the calendar for heating, plumbing, renewable energy and electrical professionals.

With over 250 exhibitors, thousands of domestic and commercial installers visiting plus world-class speakers, the return to exhibiting after various COVID lockdowns provides suppliers and service providers with a worthwhile opportunity to invest in their brand and marketing.

When is the InstallerSHOW 2022 taking place?

21st – 23rd June 2022

For those working within heating, plumbing, commercial engineering, renewable energy and electrical, InstallerSHOW provides 5 excellent reasons to exhibit:

  1. Speak on industry best practice and latest products as part of the seminar, workshop and debates
  2. Increase brand awareness as an expert within the field
  3. Demonstrate new and existing products and innovations
  4. Secure meetings and directly talk to influencers and buyers
  5. Promote competitions, exclusive deals, discounts and exhibition ‘bundles’

1) Industry Best Practice

Most exhibitions have a seminar and training programme attached to them and Installer Show is no different. With an expert line up of world-class speakers being promoted, Installer Show’s mix of over 100 seminars, training and debate sessions is shaping up to be a big reason for visitors to attend.

With lockdown and an ever-changing list of legislation, regulations, demand for more energy efficient technology and ticket requirements for installers, Installer Show offers an excellent and easy bite-size way to catch up on current and future regulation changes, best practice, new technology and industry trends.

This vital information enables professionals to identify which training they may wish to commit to and training companies they may want to train with. All of the main industry bodies such as CORGI and HETAS will be in attendance ready to support installers on the professional responsibilities as well as new tech being promoted.

2) Increase brand awareness as an industry expert

It’s worth considering whether you can speak as industry experts, or how your products or services can piggyback off the topics and trends that will be discussed at the event. With seminars highlighting trends and demand, your products will be in a prime position to answer the demand and gaps that visitors will be looking to fill to grow their own businesses. Being able to do this successfully is good news if you’re a small brand as it will help build awareness and relevancy in a competitive space.

The event will also have journalists looking for stories and new products to cover. Get ahead of the game and start talking to them before the event and promoting your products with a good story before the exhibition. Invite PR and journalists to the stand to experience your product for themselves.

3) Demonstrate your product range

After so long since exhibitions were in full flow, InstallerSHOW provides an excellent opportunity to reacquaint professionals with your core product ranges as well as introduce new ones that utilise new materials and technological advancements such as low carbon home heating and sustainable initiatives.

An exhibition is a great way of showing the latest products in person and for your expert team to talk through the benefits, installation requirements and suitability. Engage visitors in a game or give them a reason to keep talking to you long after the exhibition is over.

4) Secure meetings and talk directly to buyers

Putting your best and most knowledgeable staff on the stand is really important. Boosting well-known staff faces with additional agency staff can help draw people in with welcoming hospitality; it will be your experts that secure a potential deal.

If you market the opportunity to meet experts ahead of the show, consider how you maximise your resources to ensure your guests leave feeling looked after, special and most of all, informed about the products you are offering. You might consider a separate meeting area and booking system as well as experts available on an ad-hoc basis.

Meetings and talking to people all day can be tiring and thirsty work! Make sure your team is well looked after as happy staff are more productive. Book accommodation close by (and do it early to get the best pick of the hotels) will ensure your team don’t have far to travel.

You might want to consider having a fridge and stash of snacks and refreshments on the stand to ensure everyone is feeling top of their game!

5) Promote competitions, exclusive deals and discounts

A goodie bag or giveaway is great to have and handout. With so many suppliers vying for attendees eyeballs, a competition with a decent prize or pre-promoted exclusive ‘show only’ deal is a great way to hook prospective influencers and buyers in.

Visitors will expect to benefit from some exclusive show offers and may seek out suppliers to stock up on particular products. An interactive stand and compelling offer is a great way to introduce a new product to market or reward loyal users of a core product with an enticing deal. Make sure your offer appeals to the different audiences visiting.

  1. Planning
  2. A good brief

When should you start planning your exhibition stand?

We recommend at least 4-6 months before the exhibition. This gives you time to:

We are already booked to build exhibition stands for Danfoss (custom build) and Grundfos (modular stand). Both stands we have previously designed and built and will be renewed and reused at Install Show.

Could we help you?

With a team of exhibition stand builders on site, there is an economy of scale achieved by having a larger team from one company onsite: more resources, more tools and less carbon footprint from fewer vehicles transporting stands to the show. All of our stands have a dedicated project manager to ensure anything that needs immediate attention does so, in the calmest of ways.

Don’t forget to include yourself in your exhibition plans!

Whilst it is great to be completely focused on your stand and guests, we’d also recommend maximising what’s on offer for your own marketing and industry knowledge and forecasted trends

  • Research the floor plan, who else would it be useful to speak with? Industry bodies? Competitors?
  • Review the seminars, speakers and training lined up – is there anything that would be valuable to your plans? Which sessions were popular and what information could you provide to visitors, prospects and customers they have an appetite for?
